Khatir Afridi (His original name is Misri Khan) (Pashto: خاطر اپریدے ) (1929 – August 24, 1968) was a Pashto language poet from Pakistan. He died at age 39 but left behind a son who and his cousin compiled his father's work into a volume.[1][2][3]
Place of birth: Zakha Khel tribe in Saddu Khel village of Khyber agency. He was a gardener by profession in a nearby high school (now a F.C. fort). He never went to school for formal education.
Poetry: Initially, he wrote number of songs and got fame all around the Pashtun belt in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Afterwards, he became a member of the poetry society where he got guidance from Hamza Shinwari and Nazir Shinwari, (both are the famous Pashto poets). Afterwards he got a high place in Pashto Ghazal writing that even Hamza Shinwari went on to praise this young poet. He got a high level of dicipline in Ghazal writing and still alive in the Pashtun literature. He fought hard with the Tuberculosis for ten years and died at the age of 39.
